JP Gallery bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

JP Gallery is located about 15 minutes southwest of Jefferson City (between Eldon and Jeff).  We are a small home based studio that strives to provide you with exceptional portraits and customer service.  We are three women that are just like most of you - a mom, a wife, a friend, a daughter, etc.  -we are - Jen the photographer, Judy the office manager/assistant, and Lori the design specialist.   Together we are a great team.

Whether photographing a graduating senior or a two year old boy, I strive to capture the true essence of the individual.  To me, this means photographing not only the smiles, but the expressions that will help you to remember (in years to come) what that loved one's personality was really like.   I work at improving my craft daily by continuing education and pouring my heart and soul into my work.  I LOVE what I do and have been truly blessed with this gift.

Another blessing that comes with what I do is the ability to make and grow new relationships.  I have become very close with many of my clients and now consider them not only  customers but friends.   Thanks for taking the time to browse my website.  - jen

Resolutions

Has everyone kept up with their new years resolutions or have they fallen by the way side by now?  I never make a resolution and this year was no different.  However, in February we made plans to go on vacation with three other couples and the finality of the plans motivated me to take steps to get in shape – my mid February resolution – to get in shape!  I didn’t have a lot to lose (about 10 pounds) – but mainly I just wanted to turn what was ’soft’ into something firm and less jiggly.  So I renewed my membership to the YMCA and went to the gym for 6 weeks six days a week and worked out – no change.  In fact, I was gaining weight!  It really sucks to work out so hard (I’m not talking a leisurly walk on the treadmill – I’m talking ring your clothes out because they are saturated in sweat work outs) and get no where.  But, I kept going – determined to be bikini ready!

Then I approached one of my best friend’s husband ( Joe Lopez – who is the director of wellness services at the Y) to do some nutritional counseling with me.  My thought was maybe I was doing something wrong with my diet.  Well, after keeping a 2 week log of everything I ate – I found out that that was the exact reason I wasn’t losing any weight.  My eating habits were all screwed up!  With Joe’s vast knowledge of nutrition and my willingness to try a new mind set when it comes to food I have reached some exciting goals that I wanted to share with everyone.  I am never hungry – I eat ALL the time and I feel soooooooooo much better!  So what have I accomplished?  I have only lost 3 pounds in the three months that I have been working out but those three pounds have happened since I started watching what I eat.  Only 3 pounds doesn’t sound like much but what really has me excited is the fact that I have lost 12 total inches in two months!  Twelve inches – that is a lot of fat!!!  I owe all of this to Joe and my hard work.

I would encourage everyone out there, who is in a rut with their weight loss goals, and a member of the YMCA to give Joe a call and I am sure he can help you like he helped me.  In fact, I don’t think you have to be a member to have a session with him – I think it just costs more (but I could be wrong on that).

Ok – enough of me patting myself on the back – here are some recent images for you to enjoy.

PS – there is a lot going on this week so check back – I plan on posting everyday.  THE NEW STUDIO OPENS THIS WEEK!!!!!Weeklyblog
