Last weekend we had the pleasure of photographing all the dancers from Elite Performing Arts. What a job it was! 237 images taken – whew i’m tired!
JP Gallery is located about 15 minutes southwest of Jefferson City (between Eldon and Jeff). We are a small home based studio that strives to provide you with exceptional portraits and customer service. We are three women that are just like most of you - a mom, a wife, a friend, a daughter, etc. -we are - Jen the photographer, Judy the office manager/assistant, and Lori the design specialist. Together we are a great team.
Whether photographing a graduating senior or a two year old boy, I strive to capture the true essence of the individual. To me, this means photographing not only the smiles, but the expressions that will help you to remember (in years to come) what that loved one's personality was really like. I work at improving my craft daily by continuing education and pouring my heart and soul into my work. I LOVE what I do and have been truly blessed with this gift.
Another blessing that comes with what I do is the ability to make and grow new relationships. I have become very close with many of my clients and now consider them not only customers but friends. Thanks for taking the time to browse my website. - jen

This image makes me tear up – big time! We tried and tried to get Rex to smile and he just wasn’t having it. However, as soon as his mom started to love on him – he lit up!
Rex was born with many medical issues. His step-mom (the one in this picture – and it is not really true to form to call her his ’step mom’) met his dad when Rex was one. She has cared for and loved Rex like he was her own for 15 years now. I am just in awe of her. There are not too many women that would open their heart to a child with special needs like Rexs’. Larra – you truly are a wonderful, caring, & selfless mother! I find myself holding back tears when I watch you with him.
And to Gail (Rexs’ nurse for the past 15 years as well) – you too are well deserving of the love that Rex has for you!!!!! Together you guys make a great team that Rex has been blessed with!

So many things go into a family portrait: coordinating outfits, finding a time that is conducive to happy children and work schedules, making sure the weather cooperates, and plenty of prayers that all the planets will align and everyone will be happy and healthy during the shoot. All of these can cause an immense amount of stress on the person that is coordinating the photo session (usually the Moms – go mom!) – we realize this! Trust me I’ve been there – at our last family portrait I told my husband – in no uncertain terms – ‘You better act like you love me for the next hour!’ Ok that was a bit extreme - but, like you I had invested a lot of time and effort into getting a great family photo and didn’t want anything to ruin it. Why I was worried about my 36 year old husband and not my three kids – I’m not sure – but I digress.
Knowing those feelings, we work hard to alleviate any further stress on all the family members. Judy & I are committed to giving each session our all and trying our best to provide every family with images that they will LOVE. If for some reason, one of the above factors isn’t working that day we will reschedule your shoot or, if we have already attempted a session, we will reshoot it until you are in love with your images!
Last week we had a family session (that had to be rescheduled due to rain the prior week) with a client that has been with me for several years. I have photographed both boys and grown to love this family – and especially this Mom. She is one of the sweetest people I know – so I had to feel for her when she pulled up a few minutes late to the session and said – “Well, I’m not sure how this is gonna go. Ross puked everywhere right as we were walking out the door.” – I usually never recommend shooting when a kiddo is sick – but we had already rescheduled once and they were already here – so we decided to give it a try.
After we were done I could tell Jami was thinking – there is no way she got anything we can use. However, I knew I had some solid images for her. Was it easy – no. But, it isn’t anything Judy & I couldn’t handle – or haven’t handled before. We love what we do and get a lot of joy in proving that we CAN get some great images even when you think we can’t!
Here are a few of Jami and her beautiful family:

And here is the email I received from Jami this morning! LOVE getting these!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Jennifer!
Just a note to let you know again that I love so many of the images from our photo shoot. Josh was equally as impressed! A true testament of you as a great photographer as we left there thinking no way did we get many great pictures. It of course had nothing to do with you or Judy just simply the fact that my kids weren’t being the most cooperative and didn’t feel the best either. I wanted to let you know that instead of trying to find a few that we like, once again going to have a really tough time making a selection.
Thanks Again!
I could not be a happier client!
