JP Gallery bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

JP Gallery is located about 15 minutes southwest of Jefferson City (between Eldon and Jeff).  We are a small home based studio that strives to provide you with exceptional portraits and customer service.  We are three women that are just like most of you - a mom, a wife, a friend, a daughter, etc.  -we are - Jen the photographer, Judy the office manager/assistant, and Lori the design specialist.   Together we are a great team.

Whether photographing a graduating senior or a two year old boy, I strive to capture the true essence of the individual.  To me, this means photographing not only the smiles, but the expressions that will help you to remember (in years to come) what that loved one's personality was really like.   I work at improving my craft daily by continuing education and pouring my heart and soul into my work.  I LOVE what I do and have been truly blessed with this gift.

Another blessing that comes with what I do is the ability to make and grow new relationships.  I have become very close with many of my clients and now consider them not only  customers but friends.   Thanks for taking the time to browse my website.  - jen

I’m being BRAVE!!!!!!!

I can not believe that it has been since November since I have blogged – I absolutely stink at blogging!  But it is my new years resolution to get better- I know we are way passed that but what can I say.

I have some excuses that I will throw out there in an attempt to get some sympathy from anyone who wants to give it out – 1.  We have finally gotten settled from the move – I have painted the entire downstairs and upstairs (minus two bedrooms) over the last month  – 2.  We have now officially started construction on the new building.  The walls are framed in and this week they are replacing the tin on the outside of the buliding. – I can’t wait for everyone to see what I have planned .  We will be hosting an open house in March (hopefully) – 3. I went to Oklahoma this past weekend to ’study’ with some other photographers and brush up on some new techniques and ideas – be watching for news about my "ONE HOT MOMMA" contest coming up. – 4. I did A LOT of appointments in the last three months of the year.  I worked my rear off so that I could enjoy a little time off in January to get things ‘in order’.  Now I have come up for air and am working on getting back into gear.  Below is a collage I created with one image from each session I have done from 10/07 – 12/07 – see if you can find yourself or someone you know.Images07

On my do to list –

1. Update the website – I will be putting a lot of new images out there within the next week so be looking for some new samples of the work I have been doing.

2. Set up my limited session dates for 2008 – once those are planned they will be posted on the website calendar.

3. Organize my ‘One Hot Momma" contest – This past weekend I spent some time with other photographer friends of mine from OK, Springfield, IL, and KS.  While practicing some new techniques on lighting and posing we discovered how much fun it can be in front of the camera as well as behind it.  I never enjoyed being the subject of the picture – but I have to tell you the session was a blast! I have never felt better about myself after seeing what the proper lighting and posing can do for you.  After experiencing this we wanted to find a way to share the experience with everyone.  So my friends and I have come up with the "One Hot Momma" contest.  Details will be sent out soon.   If you are interested in feeling good about yourself or maybe doing something special for your husband for Father’s day, give me a call for your very own Hot momma session.  So, for the benefit of my clients and hopefully to encourage others out there to participate, I am gonna be brave and post some of the images that the girls got of me as well as some of the ones that I shot of my friends.

DON’T LAUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

January 31, 2008 - 1:02 pm Erin Stieferman - Jen, How awesome! What a cool idea for us moms, who on a good day feel only slightly better than frumpy. Can't wait to hear more about this! Also, love the new layout and colors on your site!
